Tactile Design Start a project

Got something you want to build?

We design products, tooling and equipment in Autodesk Inventor. Then we help you get them made, and stay until the finished part is in your hands.

What we do

Bring us the design problem. Stay for the build if you like.

Product design and engineering

From a rough idea to files a factory can quote from: concept, modeling, drawings, simulation, DFMA and renders.

Product design and engineering

Battery systems

Packs for applications that really push them, from cell choice to enclosure. Interconnects, BMS, cooling and wiring, designed as one system.

Battery systems

Fixtures, tooling and equipment

Welding and inspection fixtures, ground equipment, vessels, platforms and frames. Drawn for the shop floor, where tolerances stop being theoretical.

Design automation

iLogic configurators and part libraries that turn a few inputs into models, drawings and BOMs. Your engineers get their week back.

Industries

  • Micro-mobility and EV

    Micro-mobility and EV

Scooters, skateboards, e-bikes and unicycles, from motors and batteries down to the last bracket.

  • Aerospace and defense

    Aerospace and defense

Fixtures, ground equipment and indigenization, taken through formal approval, with every dimension checked twice.

  • Industrial equipment

    Industrial equipment

Vessels, tanks, frames, platforms and piping, plus automation that takes the repetition out of every order.

  • Consumer products

    Consumer products

Everyday products built to stand out and last. Simple ones often hide the best manufacturing puzzles.

Design is half the job

Plenty of projects stop at “it works in CAD.” We stay with yours until the parts show up.

  1. Design

Concept, CAD and drawings, reviewed with you on the live model at every step.

  2. Prove

Prototypes built by our partner shops, then inspected, tested and revised until they work.

  3. Source

Suppliers matched to each part and samples approved. Medium volumes are our favorite problem.

  4. Produce

Tooling, fixtures and QC checks in place, and the first batch signed off.

Made by manufacturers we know

We don’t manufacture in-house, on purpose. We pick the right shops for your part, in India around Bangalore, Pune and Nashik MIDC, and in China among suppliers we found building our own product. Then we stay with you from prototype to production.

Team

A small, hands-on team, with mentors from across the industry when we need them.

  • Tapas

    Founder, systems architect

Loves making things: electric skateboards, fighter-jet tooling, reverse-engineered vehicles. Learned prototyping the hard way and brings it to founders who are just as obsessed.

  • Pranay

    Design automation engineer

Years of design and programming on factory machinery and industrial equipment, from data centers to biotech. Turns weeks of repetitive design work into one click.

  • Kunal

    Marketing, sales and management

An engineer at Akasa Air by day, the business side of Tactile Design the rest of the time. Makes sure what you have in mind is what we build.

Questions

Short answers. Anything else, just ask.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. Once it’s signed, everything stays confidential.

What files do you deliver?

Native Inventor files: parts, assemblies, drawings and iLogic rules. For everyone else, STEP, IGES and Parasolid for CAD, DWG, DXF and PDF for drawings, STL and 3MF for printing, and BOMs in Excel. Nothing is held back.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. With suppliers in India and China, your product isn’t tied to one country.

How is a project priced?

A fixed-scope quote once we’ve seen the brief, with a set number of revisions. Anything beyond that is billed hourly.

Tell us what you’re building.
